It is possible to partition your hard drive into two and install a copy of Windows on each. You can choose which copy to start at bootup . Your family can make a complete mess of their copy without affecting your own. This system is not perfect. It is possible to access your copy from the other and read, write and delete files.


Install Linux

If you are not using any custom written Windows programs, installing Linux on a second partition may be the best solution. Other users can use Windows if they like and infect it with the worst viruses, everything you do on Linux will be perfectly safe. Practically all of your existing office documents can be easily used and no one can read or delete your files.
